Overnight Pacuare Rafting

Time allowing, the two or three day Pacuare rafting tours are not to be missed! Travelling by river affords access to remote virgin rainforest. You can truly get away from it all.

One day rafting groups stop for lunch while you stop to settle in at the river lodge. You will rejoin them the following day to raft the remaining stretch of river. Two to four nights stays are available; we recommend two nights.

The native timber constructed eco-lodge has a thatched roof and open viewing platforms. Although rustic, no serious "roughing it" is required, as electricity and warm showers are available via hydroelectric power. A variety of private rooms are available, each with its own private bath as well as group lodging for families. Tropical cocktails are served in the evening, followed by candlelit dinner, contributing to the rustic ambiance. There are common areas with board games, reading and hammocks to choose from.

Ample free time is available to view wildlife, explore the surrounding rainforest, hike to the native Cabecar indian village, zip on a canopy tour or participate in green projects.

The eco-lodge sits within its own 1500 acre private reserve. Maintained trails and a hanging bridge can take you to waterfalls, natural water slides and private natural pools. You can participate in guided hikes or wander on your own along the 1.5 mile trail marked with identification guides.

During longer stays, horseback riding is available to visit additional attractions such as the sustainable agricultural community of Bajo Tigre, or the reserve's reforestation project and sustainable Tilapia fishery.
